My Practice
My practice has evolved over the past thirty-seven years. I have a busy calendar which generally involves complex and substantial litigation. Discovery in these cases generally takes me all over the United States on a regular basis. I associate on occasion with other lawyers and have developed a working association through the years. Often the attorneys with whom I have developed exceptional relationships have been on the other side of a case. They fought hard, paid attention to detail and we gained a mutual respect for one another.
Example: I originated a class action age discrimination case and brought in a team of attorneys to jointly prosecute the case. This case involving over two hundred plaintiffs is currently being prosecuted in federal court.
Example: Other counsel came to me with a wage and hour FLSA class action because I had prosecuted a number of similar class actions in the past. That case is currently being prosecuted in federal court and also involves over two hundred plaintiffs.
In 1994 I tried a State Bar disbarment trial before a jury in Potter County, Texas for one (1) week to a favorable verdict where the accused attorney was totally exonerated.
In another case I was involved in a sixteen week jury trial in U.S. District Court, N.D. of Georgia, Atlanta Division, involving claims of $60,000,000.00 against my client. It involved 10-b-5 securities violations.
I do not practice family law, criminal law or real estate law. I concentrate my practice in complex state and federal litigation of a civil nature, including but not limited to False Claims Act violations, employment law, discrimination in employment, securities fraud, antitrust, civil RICO, construction law, wrongful death and serious injuries, nursing home abuse, environmental law, lender liability, condemnation and attorneys grievance and State Bar disciplinary matters. I have handled cases in all of the foregoing areas (as well as other areas) many through trial and on appeal in many cases.
